Remember that students will need to download and install the LockDown Browser on their computer or device. You must submit a request to have it added to your Canvas course. The LockDown Browser adds a layer of security to in-person, proctored tests, for example in-class exams. This is intended for proctored, in-person tests, where a proctor can ensure students are not using a second device to access additional information or websites. Please note that the LockDown Browser only locks the single computer or device a student uses to access the Quiz. Quizzes created for use with the LockDown Browser cannot be accessed with standard browsers. When students use the LockDown Browser to access a Canvas Quiz, they are unable to print, copy-and-paste, visit other websites, access other applications, or close a quiz until it is submitted for grading. The Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom web-browser that can help secure test-taking.
